LoSo Bassar (and Chummus)

Use this tasty chopped meat as a pairing with your chummus, or with a pasta. Make it into a meal by adding it to your favorite tacos, tortiallas or nachos.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 Sweet Onion, finely diced
  • 2 Tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 Tsp Paprika
  • 1/4 Tsp Coriander
  • 1/4 Tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 Tsp Cinnamon
  • 6 Tbsp No Salt Added Heinz Ketchup

Instructions

  • In frying pan, saute onions until translucent, approximately 5-10 minutes. Do not burn the onions.
  • Add ground beef to the pan, and make sure it is chopped up finely.
  • Continue to cook with onions, until beef is cooked through, and liquid is gone. About 10-15 minutes
  • Add in spices, and mix with beef and onions.
  • Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  • Add in Ketchup and cook for 2 more minutes.

Notes

Pair this with Trader Joe's Taco Shells, which have 0 mg of sodium. Another option are Chi Chi's White Corn Tortillas, with 15 mg of sodium per 2 tortillas.
