Boy was I excited when I saw someone post about Epicure's Everything Bagel Whole Food Topper on one of the Facebook low sodium groups that I follow. I really love the Trader Joe's Everything But The Bagel Seasoning. I love it so much that I created a no sodium takeoff of that -- Everything But the Bagel...and the Salt. But it is truly luxury to be able to buy a similar product with no sodium off the shelf. I think we can all relate to not having to make one more thing from scratch!
As far as kashrut, I was excited to find that this product has supervision from the reliable Kosher Check. As per the Chicago Rabbinical Council (cRc) Kosher Check (formerly known as BCK is from the Rabbinical Council of British Columbia.
There are two caveats with Everything Bagel Whole Food Topper Product:
- It is pretty pricey. Each 4.2 oz bottle costs $10.50! When you add in the shipping costs, which are another $7.50, I am not kidding when I say this is a luxury.
- It comes from Canada, so it doesn't arrive all that quickly. They assign you a "consultant" to process your order. I still really don't have a clue as to why I need a consultant to process an order to buy a spice blend. But maybe that's just the New Yorker in me. Canadians are definitely nicer, and probably have better customer service.
My advice is to buy one or two of these and use them when you are truly short on time or have run out of your homemade Everything But the Bagel...and the Salt. Or perhaps to take with you when you be on vacation and don't have easy access to a kitchen or your usuals.
